    Enjoyable, Clever, and Romantic!

3.5 stars " . . . . sometimes you just have to extend a little grace to people. Not because they deserve it - but because we don't deserve it either." Love is a complicated thing. . . . . just about the time you put someone securely on a pedestal, they are likely to come tumbling down. No one knows this better than Daisy Pendleton. Her sunny disposition hides a multitude of insecurities, so when a lovely young stranger arrives in Copper Creek asking questions about her father, Daisy confides in the one person who knows her better than most, her pastor, Jack McReady. Jack McReady has grown to love the lovely floral shop co-owner over the past couple of years, but Daisy remains oblivious to his affections. When a friend challenges him to take a shaky next step, he knows it could backfire; Daisy trusts him implicitly and finding out that he has initiated conversation with her via a dating app could ruin the wonderful friendship they already share. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds" . . . . even on Magnolia Lane. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. The opinions stated above are entirely my own.

A good, clean, faith based romance!

I've been wanting to read a Denise Hunter book for a while now. I didn't realize that her books are faith based or Christian romance. It didn't bother me, I just wasn't expecting it. When Pastor Jack was introduced as one of the main characters, I was just a little surprised. Pastor Jack's relationship with Daisy was also a surprise to me. He was in love with her, but she had no idea. They even spent quite a bit of time alone as her counseled her. The saving grace for me was that her friends and his all knew, otherwise I would have found it hard to buy. Their coming together was sort of reminiscent of the movie You've Got Mail--the friendship that they established in person, the betrayal of him as someone else on the internet and her slow realization that he was actually the one she loved. Since that is one of my favorite movies, I loved it! This book had a lot to do with being brave and going after what you want. It also had a lot to do with grace and forgiveness. It's a lesson we all could use. On Magnolia Lane is a good, sweet, clean, faith based novel. I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. All thoughts are my own.

    A fun story

A very interesting story that includes a florist, a pastor, an internet connection and secrets that have been hidden for years. Unknown to Daisy, the florist, Pastor Jack has held a torch for her for two years or longer. Through counseling sessions, church services and friendly get togethers at the local hangout, The Rusty Nail, he has kept his secret. A friend seeing the potential for the two of them, sets the pastor up with a profile on a dating site that Daisy is already on. Daisy begins a correspondence not knowing she is learning about her shy pastor. A disaster waiting to happen? Daisy has always kept her deceased father on a pedestal and looked up to her mother. A family secret kept for many years has burst her bubble and draws a wedge between her and her mom. A local girl's home is hit by a tornado and damages part of it. Daisy takes on a project to raise money for repairs. With her world slowly crumbling around her how can she take on anything more? This story takes you on a journey to learn of God's forgiveness as well as our forgiveness to others. This story has enough going on that it is nowhere near a boring read. I highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher but was not required to write a review positive or otherwise.

    sweet romance

You may know Denise Hunter from her 30 published books or the two Hallmark movies based on her work. I'd seen the two movies but this is my first taste of her writing. I really liked this story. I appreciate a character that's not afraid or apologetic about having faith, praying or attending church. The subject is a necessary part of the storyline and it's handled nicely. Our hero is Jack McReady. He's in his mid-thirties, a little shy, apparently looks like an Armani ad model and oh yes, he's a pastor in Copper Creak, Georgia. For the past few years he's been fighting, and hiding, his attraction to a pretty parishioner. While there's no set rule, he still wonders how his being involved with a member of his congregation would be taken. He's not even sure she's attracted to him, the man, or only thinks of him as her pastor. It's becoming more difficult to keep his feelings to himself. Our heroine is Daisy Pendleton. Co-owner of Oopsy Daisy, a flower shop (what else). She's in her mid-twenties, blond hair, a heart of gold and rotten luck with her love life. She has no idea her pastor has romantic feelings for her. She's signed up with an on-line dating app, it's not going well. When Jack finds out about the dating app he's convinced he must act now, before some other man swoops in and steals her heart. We're treated to lots of angst, guilt, longing looks, dating profiles, rock climbing (not kidding), idols knocked off pedestals, and siblings popping up. It's a fun journey. Gram delivers a line that touched me. "Sometimes you just have to extend a little grace to people." Isn't that a wonderful motto to add to our lives? These days grace seems to be in short supply. As this is a romance book there is a happy ending. We'd be disappointed if there wasn't. Receiving a free book ARC is a true privilege and one I certainly enjoy. Being able to share my opinion is a pleasure. Both are free and without obligation. Happy reading.

    A Must Read Contemporary Romance

Award winning author Denise Hunter's latest novel, On Magnolia Lane, provides a satisfying conclusion to her Blue Ridge Romance series. It can also be read as a stand alone novel since the author provides background information on the minor characters in the story. Denise Hunter thoroughly captivates her readers with a heartwarming story that demonstrates the healing power of forgiveness through faith and love. Hunter tells the story of Daisy Pendleton who works at her family owned flower shop and Pastor Jack McReady, who has served a friend and confidant to Daisy through his work at the church. Daisy's time together with Jack helps her to face family secrets from the past and possibly a chance at finding true love. What an incredible story from Denise Hunter! She is a master storyteller, and readers will thoroughly enjoy this final book of the Blue Ridge series. Fans of the movie "You Got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan will enjoy this 2018 variation of online dating and the obstacles that occur when one of the parties involved does not realize that they know each other in real life as well as online. I thoroughly enjoyed the tidbits of information and updates about characters from her previous books in the series. The story had a very rewarding ending, but I was enjoying it so much that I hated to see it end! This is Denise Hunter at her best! I received a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are mine.
