  • A great additional to this lovely series

NARRATOR: Therese Plummer Robyn Carr is one of my favourite authors and it was lovely to revisit Sullivan's Crossing again in the second of this wonderful series. This time we meet up with Sierra, Cal's sister (from the first book), who is a recovering alcoholic and working hard to get her life back on track. She is trying her best to get through things on her own, but there is a lot of support around her, and she slowly settles into life in the Crossing, meeting some of the locals. One of the locals is a firefighter and paramedic, Connie (Conrad), and she immediately gets a jolt of attraction when she meets him. Sierra and Connie slowly get to know one another and get closer, although neither one was looking for a relationship. But Sierra has some unresolved issues from her past to get through, which she is initially reluctant to talk about, but then realises she needs to sort out before she can move on. There is also a lovely dog in this book, which Sierra rescues from someone abusing her, she is such a cutie! Another great addition to this series. Robyn Carr's books are just so readable and you get really invested in all the characters, it's like coming back to a favourite place every time you return for the next installment.
