  • A great experience

The Corrs reminds me of days in my late teens and early twenties when internet was not widespread in my country, and no Youtube at any part of the world, but of course there was MTV which introduced us to this great band. So it's nostalgic. Beautiful music performed by beautiful women & their brother guitarist. I knew much later that they were siblings! They were different in many other ways than many other bands. A foreign language & unfamiliar cultural motifs in them & their songs could not be a barrier for us to enjoy the songs—in fact, it was the opposite I think! It's a pleasing experience to learn about the personal life of the Irish singer from her book. It's beautifully written; in a poetic mannner, she opens up about many incidents of her life—family tragedies & relationships, politics, spirituality, hard times she had to go through during child birth & as a mother. Verse by verse, she becomes intimate with the reader who eventually forgets about the writer's identity as a celebrity singer and starts to find the book relatable to the reader's own life experiences. Ireland has produced many great writers and poets. In the book, Andrea Corr has also expressed her deep interest in English Literature. At the beginning, she describes why she felt compelled to write the memoir. As a reader, I don't want the compulsion to leave her soon—I don't know if this will reach her—I hope she starts working on another book of poetry or any form of literature.
