  • Hamnett

Magpie’s writing draws you right in. Beautiful, sensitive, and powerful. I could not put it down. My best read since Where Crawdads Sing.

  • Facinating

This is an imaginative telling of the domestic life of William Shakespeare and his family. Although the playwright is never mentioned by name. A large part of the story revolves around Anya, his wife and their children. The death of their only boy to the plague has a terrible effect on all their lives and results in the writing of Hamlet. A facinating look at life in the 1500s I thoroughly enjoyed this well written and researched novel.

  • Great story

Thoroughly enjoyed this story about Shakespeare’s family even though that name is never mentioned in the book. Highly recommended!
