  • ALL THE FEELS!

ADAM AND LUCY! I loved this story so much. After finishing My Beautiful Neighbor I could not wait for Adam and Lucy’s story. I have to be honest though and say I was REALLY nervous about Lucy. Adam was absolutely shattered and heartbroken about his wife leaving him in the first book but I just knew there had to be a good reason for it. BUT I was in NO WAY prepared for the emotional journey this book would take me on. Yes it is typical Piper Rayne with their laugh out loud antics, especially once Dori and Ethel stick their noses in but the connection and reconnection of this couple was so beautiful and really touched my heart. Lucy is suffering from amnesia and comes back to Sunrise Bay ready to reclaim her memories and life, but it isn’t going to be as easy and seamless as she thinks. Lucy is a really sweet girl, with a meddling mother and is genuinely confused and trying to find her footing in life after her accident. She not only wants to remember who she was but also who she is now. I really felt for her. Adam is an amazing guy. Fiercely loyal. Although Adam wanted to protect his heart from being hurt again, his love for Lucy is so big that he easily puts his heart aside to help her regain her memories. I loved reading the flashback scenes just as much as I loved reading the present scenes. Piper Rayne transitioned these seamlessly and kept me invested in their whole story. I am quickly falling hard for the Greene family just as I had the Bailey’s, and I love that Sunrise Bay is a neighboring town of Lake Starlight and we get a few cameos of our beloved Bailey’s in this series too. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose. These two are phenomenal storytellers and two of my faves! Virginia's portrayal of Lucy and the emotional turmoil she goes through pulled at my heartstrings and Jacob's swoony, sexy voice as Adam was PERFECTION! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

  • Adam and Lucy!

Adam has known since he was a teenager that Lucy was his future and he thought nothing could come between them until the day she came to him and not only told him she no longer loved him but disappeared from his life as well. He has spent the last year trying to pick up the pieces of his life only to have her re-appear and not only forget that they are no longer together but why she left him in the first place. Lucy suffered a serious accident and has lost her short-term memory. When she comes to town she immediately remembers Adam but she doesn’t remember parts of their past and especially why she left. The last year has changed them both however the feelings between them burn stronger than ever but if her memories return will it bring them closer or tear them apart? Seeing the flashbacks of their life together enabled us to see how enduring their love was as they take us on an emotional journey as they fight to find their way back to each other. The narrators did a great job at bringing out all the feels of the characters and their story.

  • Most Emotional

Rating: 4.5 Stars Some people don’t like a book that’s told in the first person. In this case I felt it was necessary so that we get more of a personal experience of the main characters. This latest book from Piper Rayne is different from any other book I’ve read so far. It seems more personal and more intimate. Usually, the books are full of laughs that help to move their stories along. This latest gets into how two people are learning to reconnect. Lucy has come home to find herself and relearn the world she left behind. Adam is what was left behind but doesn’t understand why. It was a great look at a second first chance. It was two people reconnecting with what all seems like a new life. Our authors always know what is needed to show us the heat these two have for the other. Two people that help the authors are the narrating pair of Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose. They help to add the emotions and feelings that each character are going through. But they also give life to the secondary characters that have a voice as well – both the good and the bad. If you already have the book, this audio version is a great compliment. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

  • My Almost Ex

"I'm in. You've always been mine, Lucy Greene. I've fought for you my entire life and I'm not giving up on us yet." ⁣ A fun and emotional second chance romance with all the feels and family hijinks everyone loves. ⁣ Adam and Lucy were high school sweethearts, so when Lucy walks out on Adam he is confused. A year later while in the middle of a crowded bar, Lucy walks back into Adam's life and acts as if they are still the happy couple they always were. Lucy has amnesia and wants to remember her life in Sunrise Bay and Adam is determined to find out why she left him so he agrees to help her figure everything out. ⁣ Heading back to Alaska is always a fun time. There are always bound to be some hijinks between Ethel and Dori. We got a lot more from Ethel and Dori in this book. You could sense the love and passion between Adam and Lucy even with Adam trying to deny them. This book was a little deeper than the other books especially when they finally realize why Lucy left in the first place. I am really enjoying this new series and after the ending, I am highly looking forward to the next book in the series. ⁣ Audio: A great job by Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose bringing the story and characters to life.

  • I loved this book from beginning to end.

Wow! I loved this book from beginning to end. I listened to the audiobook. Even while I was working, I kept thinking about this book, and wondering about what was going to happen. I couldn't wait to get back to my car at the end of the day, in order to listen to it. Adam might be a muscular, sexy park ranger, but he is also such a sweet man. It is a romance with a second chance, between Adam and his wife, about to be ex-wife, Lucy, as she comes to Sunrise Bay with amnesia, from a fall from a horse. It is a very emotional book, but of course, it has lots of laughs too, especially with the two grandmas. It is a wonderful story. With that great story, it is then put in the very capable hands and voices of Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose, the two narrators. They really bring the words to life. I highly recommend this book, whether you read it, or listen to it.
