  • More Killer Mermaids Please

3.5* Stars - This was pretty good, but still not quite what I had wanted. This definitely didn’t scare me the way I would’ve liked it to and I really wanted more killings. Having everyone on board die was the ending I had been hoping for from Into the Drowning Deep, which I also gave 3.5, but the full details of how everyone died wasn’t enough. I wanted to feel the terror and see the panic and horror from the characters perspectives. The scene that you get at the start of Into the Drowning Deep from Anne and Kevin POV was not shown here. In fact, it seems as though they died differently from what we were told in the actual novel. I’m confused about that. The audiobook was good, especially when it came to the deaths of the Blue Seas troop but, it could’ve been turned up to give more of a chilling atmosphere and invoke terror. The way the narrator would pronounce Atargatis was also very annoying cause it sounded silly and was said differently to the Into the Drowning Deep audiobook. If this novella had been just a bit longer to accommodate more killings, this could’ve been a 5 star read.

    Thanks for your feedback!
