  • Very thoughtful author!

Enjoyed reading this book. I felt so many of this ideas throughout my life but this has been organized and put together as to make sense from many many principles and methodologies. I was beginning to feel that I would never be able to follow up on all these 7 habits, but as I reached the end I understand how one new to live by the principles set out, but occasionally even the author admits that he needs to pull himself back on track. It was easy to see how the pressures of life can be stored out with these principles and 7 habits. Highly recommended for everyone from the business executive to the couple just trying to be heard in the midst of life's challenges.

  • So painfully religious that I couldn't finish it

I got through 17% of this audiobook and I had to stop. it was the most painful 17% of any audiobook I had ever listened to. Be warned that it's very Christian. There was this one moment when the author was going on about how God granted humans consciousness which is what separates us from animals and gives man dominion over them and the earth. Animals are very intelligent and have an emotional depth that leads me to believe that they are no less than us. It also places US democracy on a pedestal, without acknowledging the flaws it proposes that virtues like fairness are baked into reality the way that gravity is. To which I counter that animals show remarkable signs of intelligence and emotional depth, so much so that I can only conclude that they are no less than us. Life is overwhelmingly unfair. You or someone you love may be afflicted with economic hardship, disease, war or famine for no good reason. And it's not your fault. I'm sure I could go on but I'll spare us both the trouble.
