  • Lee's narration is outstanding

I'll have to break my review of The Paradise Guest House down by parts. The first part is phenomenal. After that, unfortunately, the book becomes more of a romance, and that is where it lost me. Ann Marie Lee's narration is outstanding as usual, and she's especially well-suited to read this style of first-person present-tense narrative. That said, when the point-of-view switches over to the male lead in part two, I'd have much preferred to have it performed by a man, even though Lee carries it very well. I guess I should have paid closer attention to other reviewers who mentioned the romance theme of the book being irksome. The information the book provides about the Bali bombing in 2002 is, however, very informative for those of us who missed it when it was active news, before it became an historical event.

    Thanks for your feedback!
