Elin Peer takes us on an exciting adventure into the future. Yr 2437 after the Toxic War (World War 3) where the world is ruled by women, the Motherlands. Happy, peaceful and somewhat brainwashed. The Northlands, Canada and Alaska, are ruled by supposedly barbaric men who are hot alpha males. There is a treaty between the two. When the Nmen of the Northlands locate a building full of books and information of the past, they request an archeologist. Professor Christina Sanders has always been interested in the history of the world and especially the Nmen. She volunteered to go to the Northlands to not only recover the new findings but to find out if these men really exist and if they are as dangerous as history dictates. Little did she know what was in store for her. Boulder became Christina's protector since women were rare in the Northlands. Two people from different worlds raised with different beliefs. A loving relationship develops as these two people learn to trust one another, try to view each others traditions and comprise. Steamy scenes as well. Khan is the ruler of the Northlands. A strong ruler who is deceitful and sly. Pearl is the leader of the Motherlands. A leader who is strong but yet sly in her own way. Two people that share a secret conncerning the two lands. When Pearl volunteers to stay with Khan, trying to persuade him of her beliefs, it's like two tigers in a cage. Magni is ridiculed by fellow warriors since his wife left him for the Motherlands. I loved the characters and the plot. The cover attracted me into reading this fabulous book. Next Ruler, Book 2.
