  • Compelling

I found this book very interesting and towards the end I could not wait to find out what happened, also the voices of the narrators were very good.

  • Murder during the Windrush

Laurie arrives in London in 1948 looking forward to the new life he has been promised. An aspiring musician, he joins a band as a clarinettist playing gigs by night, working as a postman by day. One day, on his way to a ‘special delivery’ for his boss, Laurie witnesses the finding of a body in a park and is soon accused of murder, not because he is guilty, but because he is black. In this engaging story with a cast of interesting characters, each one portrayed in a different voice by the readers, Laurie learns the lesson that not everyone or everything is what they seem.
