  • Adore this second chance romance

This is my first book by Kait Nolan, but I *love* Amy McFadden as a narrator and haven't come across any of her work I didn't like. Both were amazing here. This is a dual POV, small town, second chance romance, series opener. Kennedy & Xander are reunited due to a family tragedy and we get the rekindling of their relationship. What I especially loved is that while there was "a big secret" that caused Kennedy to leave Eden's Ridge in the first place ~ it's uncovered at about the 60% point and we aren't overly tortured with that as the only plot point. Nolan's worldbuilding is impeccable here. We get to know enough about Kennedy's sisters to anticipate the rest of the series, but in a way that doesn't overpower the main plot. Heads up: You'll probably need a box of Kleenex with this one. Amy McFadden is fantastic as always. Her ability to give all the characters their own unique voices and keep the southern accents in tact without being overdone is phenomenal. It was never a guess as to who was speaking and chapters from Xander's POV were distinct.

  • Good start to series...

The idea of the series appealed to me ... and enjoy getting to know the whole family & community ... this wasn’t a bad start... but could of a little more depth into characters.... less libido & swearing 🤬..

    Thanks for your feedback!
