  • 1633 Well worth reading.

A good read. Plot moves at a good pace with interesting glimpses of the convoluted politics of the time. Thankfully the descriptions are sufficient for the reader to understand the story without boring us with a history lesson. A map showing the major location would be useful. Also because of the vast cast of characters an appendix showing their relationship would have been helpful to me.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Yeah

If you liked 1632, this one's better. The battles are tenser - fragile advanced technology v.s. guts and numbers. The political maneuvering is even more clever, the stakes higher. Historical figures read our history books and try to avoid their mistakes. And cartoony jerks from the first book get character development. The main plot thread has a satisfying ending, but it's written as part of a series - all the secondary plot threads are left dangling for later.

    Thanks for your feedback!
