  • A ripping read

I have to say Malcolm's prediliction for trusting the obviously trustworthy is a charactee flaw I wasn't expecting. Given his experience I would have thought he was a little more discerning. One can only wonder if there is an element of attempted self validation tbere. That said, this book is an extremely valuable contribution to Australian political history and an explanation for a period when the influence of the right in Australian politics is ever more pervasive. The Turnbull led government almost achieved a less than perfect approach to dealing with the most serious exitential problem facing Australia but one must wonder if a more aggressive approach to the opposition might have achieved a result - one less concerned with being seen to be associated with te ALP. Well written Malcolm. I enjoyed it and learned much! Thank you.

  • Insightful and scary.

Very candid insight into Canberra politics. Also very scary at how many are out for themselves and not the overriding best interests of Australia.

  • An excellent read for a man of our times.

A rare book to come from a politician. It is very open and forthright about his business and political career. Much more so than one would have expected, especially given the circumstances of the end of his political career. No venom, just honesty. An excellent read and insight into the man. A man for our times. Definitely.
