  • Another good fantasy adventure.

Another good fantasy adventure. I have read this story and the sequel "The Haunting of Tram Car 015" out of order, so this tale was especially interesting for introducing Siti, whose backstory is much more interesting. She plays a much larger role this time and is quite the action adventure hero on her own. I could see this series evolving as more agents are introduced and we learn more about the various groups and entities that populate this version of Cairo. It could possibly culminate in a longer work interweaving a few cases and many agents into a more elaborate tapestry.

  • Strange but interesting

I want a longer version of this. A novel in this universe would be delightful.

  • Enjoyable romp

An enjoyable albeit short investigative romp through an alternative Cairo - one of magic and believers - and evocatively imagined. Wish I had known how short it was before I purchased it though.

  • Good world building

This reminded me of the Rivers of London series, only in 1920s Cairo with a localised crew of mythical beings. Fun read but couldve gone further.
