  • Quick-witted and entertaining suspense

A Few Good Fish is the third and final novel in Miss Lane’s Fish Out of Water series. I ended up reading this as a standalone due to time constraints; and while it worked and the author provides sufficient back information so I could follow along, I’d certainly recommend reading the full series in order. That said, I did really enjoy A Few Good Fish. The characters were charming and the story interesting, held together with quick-witted and engaging writing. In short, A Few Good Fish is the complete package. The third book finds Jackson and Ellery easing back into things at the start, and then sliding down a rabbit hole that once again leads them to a case that’s clearly been developing throughout the series. There are lots of moving parts within A Few Good Fish and I believe I would have had a greater appreciation for how interwoven these plotlines were had I been familiar with the series. What I can say is I loved how the author demonstrated the still-developing bond between Ellery and Jackson, as well as highlighted the connection and love of all the featured couples, all while creating a suspenseful and action-packed finale. I don’t know if I will end up going back and finishing the series since I know how it all concludes, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it at all and would highly recommend romantic suspense fans checking out this series.

    Thanks for your feedback!
