  • Humorous

This first book in the series really helps set the characters and place up nicely. Emma and her sister Charlotte run the funeral home. Emma of course is the town nut with her special ability. She works well with the local sharif. I will start on the next book to see how Emma's ability will get her in trouble..

  • Tonya Kappes’ A Ghostly Undertaking

Emma Lee Raines is a local undertaker. She and her sister, Charlotte have taken over running the Eternal Slumber Funeral Home from their grandmother, Zula Fae Raines Payne. Granny owns & run the local Inn with Ruthie Sue Payne. They are arch enemies. They were married to the same man at different times. Earl Payne is now deceased. Ruthie Sue falls down the Inn steps and dies. Emma Lee after being hit in the head with a falling plastic Santa has developed what is being called “Funeral Trauma”. This means Emma Lee can see and communicate with ghosts. So when the ghost of Ruthie Sue appears claiming that she didn’t just fall that someone pushed her. She requests that Emma Lee investigate and find who murdered her. The story moves at a fast pace with sub plots within the main plot. The characters are well created, lively, some quirky, some feisty and the main one with a rare gift of being able to see and communicate with ghosts waiting to pass on to the next life but stuck because of murder. Come along with Emma Lee and her shenanigans for a ghostly, enjoyable and humorous haunt. This is book # 1 in the Ghostly Southern Mysteries series. Looking forward to reading the next one.

  • Graveyard doings

I enjoyed this light hearted look at someone who can see and talk to ghosts. She is entertaining and the book is a quick read if you are looking for something to read in a day.
