    The usual Abercrombie

Good. I read all the novels Abercrombie has published and I have to say that his characters tend to stick to three groups: the fool that gets reality in the face, the disillusioned, and the wicked who gets things into perspective when confronted with the hard facts of life. The wicked usually turns worse, sometimes they get damaged and stay that way. This one is no exception, but the quality in it is the way Abercrombie moves his usual cast towards the reality of his world: it's all about the smacks in the face. And then, for all the talk about "grimdark" surrounding Abercrombie, I find his characters generally funny: the ones not taking the beatings with a little humour are usually the bad guys. So yes, his world is grim, but his characters are used to it and are usually not murdering madmen.

Enjoyed the book, once all the characters started to blend in together. Didn’t like how in the beginning all the chapters were different story for each character
