  • Guns and Roses.

Being sweet and petite is not what Lizbeth the "gunner" is known for. When she arrives at the Dixie town of Sally however, that is exactly how she's expected to act if she's going to finish her latest job. Racism and sexism are in abundance in Sally, and while Lizbeth is known for being a straight shooter, she'll have to rely on her keen observation skills to get to the bottom of it all. I really enjoyed the new setting, and seeing Lizbeth change in unexpected ways to suit her environment. We get to see a developing relationship butt heads with opposite ways of life. And the unexpected outcomes of the various threads piecing the story together made for a thriller ending. I recommend this book a lot to fans of the rural fantasy Charlaine is known for.
