  • My reality-TV-loving heart is in heaven

My reality-TV-loving heart is in heaven. There is a lot of drama in here, but it’s all drama that fits within the story. It all feels necessary to moving the plot along. I am so glad for that fact that unnecessary and over the top drama that’s just to create angst are not a part of this book. Meredith and Jamie have so much chemistry together, it’s easy to feel their anguish when things start spinning out of their control. It kept me invested in seeing them get their happily-ever-after. This is the first book in the series that I’ve read, and it stands well on its own. I never felt like I was missing any important background information, but I am now inspired to go back and read those earlier books. I look forward to seeing what’s coming next. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book via Booksprout.

  • Enjoyable Hard Fought Romance to Achieve their HEA

This is the first story I've read by this author, and I really enjoyed it. Our Hero, Jamie, and our heroine, Meredith, are part of the royal guard protecting the Queen of Merveille. Meredith has no idea that Jamie is the Crown Prince of Kalopsia and that he has been literally hiding out in Merveille for the past 10 years from the rebels who unjustly overthrew his father, the King. Assisted with some liquid courage, they openly admit their love for one another and get married. In the days following their secret elopement, each feels guilt for secrets they carry that they each feel doom their relationship. Jamie and Meredith were strong, complex and well-developed characters. Because the story was told from a dual perspective we could truly experience the doubts and internal struggle they felt when apart and even when they reunited. Thankfully they had a strong supporting cast who helped guide them to their HEA.
