  • Refreshing female body positivity

Really enjoyed the Hero and Heroine's interactions in this book. Lily is exceptionally beautiful, which is often a curse, particularly for women in that time and space. She is lonely, devoid of any company, and falls prey to a cad as a result. Alec is a big, brawny Scot who has suddenly inherited a dukedom -- but he has a soft heart which has been hurt many times by women who only took his body and hurt his self-esteem. Their insecurities were disarming, and it was beautiful to see these two lost souls helping each other find their way out of their dark places and making the best of a very sticky situation. Their emotional and physical connection was a joy to read about. I particularly liked how the issue of the nude painting was handled by Sarah Maclean in this book -- but I won't give anything away regarding that here, I highly recommend you read and find out for yourself!

    Thanks for your feedback!
