Great blend of magic & mystery

It is Christmas in Hocus Hills and the Brenda & her family were still on the run (and still after Aunt Emma's magical spices). Susie has her hands full helping out at the pie shop, juggling her boyfriend Henry and a friend from her past who has suddenly shown up and showing interest in her, and trying to catch Brenda before she destroys the town with her evil magic. This is the second book in the Little Magic Pie Shop series. Don't worry if you haven't read the first one (although you would really enjoy it), because the author does a good job recapping everything that has happened so far. There is a great blend of magc & mystery with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure. I loved this book and I think you will too.

A Lovely Mix Of Magic & Christmas

What a lovely and enjoyable story! It was great to be back in Hocus Hills with Aunt Erma at the helm of her magical pie shop, along with Susanna (Susie) Daniels. In this yuletide instalment, Susie is busy at the pie shop and spending time with her boyfriend, Henry, as well as a friend from her past who has suddenly rocked up, showing a keen interest in her. She is also trying to prevent a group of bad lads from stealing her aunt's precious magical spices. A Slice of Christmas Magic by AG Mayes made perfect reading for me between other more intense, lengthier novels. It was funny and quirky with a cute and cosy feel. This book was a great package of Christmassy fun, joy and magic and it was a perfect story to enjoy with a mug of hot chocolate and a large Christmas cookie. With its great story and wonderful characters, I would recommend A Slice of Christmas Magic to Romance, Christmas and magic lovers wanting a short weekend read. I will be reading more in this very appealing series. I received a complimentary copy of this novel, at my request, from Harper Impulse via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.
