    Thanks for your feedback!

Beautiful depiction of the paradox of parenting.

I love this writer's honesty. When you start that long journey that you want to end with healthy, thriving adult children, there are so many questions. It's all about relationships, how they evolve and change. I think she articulates beautiful the subtle stuff that books often don't chew on. As a result it makes this book both satisfying and thought provoking. The nature of how a relationship with a partner must ultimately change, the shift from a fulfilling professional life to the commitment of mothering. The idea of perfection (or not). I like the way she insists on being herself all through it (and provokes you to think about what is 'selfish'), yet appears to completely give into raising her children all the while. She shows, like books rarely do, that the idea of balance is never there yet, sublimely through it all, it really is there. She nails the paradox in a way not many people do. Great if you're thinking of kids or you've had them!
