One of my favorite books from my childhood. It's sexist though so not sure if would hold up well.

  • One of my childhood favorites

Silly, pompous, sexist... But still worth reading. Having read most of Piers Anthony's books over the years, I now see his usual moral/ethical themes of Good and Evil played out even in this early book.

  • A great start to a series

A spell for chameleon is a great start to the punny universe that is Xanth. Bink is a relatively likable character overall, and the various cast (Such as the Good Magician Humpfrey) give a unique spin to the tale. Xanth itself is quite a bit different from your normal land, but enchanting all the same.

  • Very good book

I enjoyed very much reading it! This book reminds me of The Hobbit or of Magic Kingdom for sales. I am so glad I didn't get the simplified version that is available as well : part of the good in this book is the style of the autor, which doesn't need to be changed!

    Thanks for your feedback!
