  • Breast Cancer Survivor Story Done Right

Having just read a book where I didn't think the author did a good job portraying what it is like for a breast cancer survivor, I was pleased to see this moving, heartfelt, and more realistic look at what it is like. The romance here is certainly front and center, but the glimpses we see of the heroine’s feelings about herself and her difficult past added more depth and emotion than is typical in contemporary romance. I wasn't quite sure what I thought about the hero at first, as he is a bit of a player (or at least had been before he develops a serious interest in the heroine) and I didn't think he treated her precisely right at the beginning (some lying and manipulation). But, as the title suggests, he does end up being a sweetheart. I do have one small quibble. I am a nurse in Oregon, and I've never heard of a nurse being called an “associate nurse” as happens in this book. We are either RNs or LPNs; we work part time or full time. but the title of “associate nurse” I have never heard applied to any of my colleagues. Even nursing assistants are called just that, or CNAs for short. But, all in all, I thought this was a wonderfully well-written contemporary romance. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

  • Enjoyed

This was a sweet book that with each turn of the pages gives us an inside look at the well developed and engaging characters of Javier a store owner and Sophie the sassy nurse. The storyline is well written and kept me entertained. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • A quick but wonderful read!!

You will get lost in this book as you read about Javier falling for Sophie after seeing her for the first time, I really liked how he had to work for it as Sophie has been through so much and she deserves someone to fight for her and to show her she is worth it, I am not saying she isn't a strong women because she is and an absolute hoot to ie the outfit she wore for her dinner with Javier! This really is the perfect sweet feel good book that won't disappoint I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • Emotional Romance

Sophie deal with the physical scars of surgery from breast cancer and the emotional scars of her fiance breaking up with from it and how she doesn’t feel attractive anymore. She just wanted shoes from Javier’s store, but he saw something in her and wouldn’t give up his pursuit to make her feel like a woman worth loving again. I loved that he’s a wonderful cook and artist. Sophie was pretty great too as a nurse caring about her patients and her landlady. There were plenty of funny moments along with the poignant ones. The fairy costume she wore on the first date made me laugh. Breast cancer is such a horrible disease, I’m glad the author chose to write about it and show that her character coming out from the other side of it stronger and beautiful.

  • A good romance

Sophie has been through a lot and all she wants is to focus on herself. It may sound selfish, but once you know her story you realize whhy. Then she walks into a store and meets Javier. He wants something good and pure. To feel needed and wanted. Something he didn't have as a child. Now he just has to convince Sophie. Going back to her hometown to help her parents brings Javier into a whole new world. Sophie's world. Such a sweet Romance I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
