    Frustratingly disappointed

When I saw that this book was from a bestselling author, I jumped at the chance to read it. However, as a romance writer and an avid reader of romance, it felt anything but a true romance. The lead characters have next to zero chemistry and I just can't get past the fact that a career woman like our female protagonist will just give up on the dream she's been chasing for ten years. I also didn't like how everyone kept guilt-tripping her for wanting something for herself. The characters I did like are Emma and Roscoe. And frankly, I would have loved to read a book about Emma and her aunt building a life together for themselves without the forced inclusion of romance in the mix just for the sake of it. The story in itself felt very repetitive until the very end when without any real catalysts, our heroes had changes of hearts. I just couldn't get through the fact that the female protagonist who seemed to hate the small town life suddenly remembered how much she loved it. I came here looking for a romance read and have been sadly disappointed, however, to the readers who don't mind a few little inconsistencies and aren't too keen on romance, give this book a go because small towns do have their own kind of charm.

    Good

I would like to thank netgalley and Tule Publishing for the opportunity to read this book. It's a sweet romance, but very repetitive. Also the idea that a women who is driven by work and doesn't want children secretly wants to play happy families is a very backward idea.....

    A teaspoon of trouble

Oh dear difficult to review this one. Predictable, yes, sad, yes. And then a first chapter of the next book at the end which I never like. I did finish it but had I given up at any point in really don't think I would have missed anything special. Sorry not for me.

    Touching

Touching in so many ways. Caroline has to decide where to raise her niece.
