  • Gibraltar crime story

This was an enjoyable and interesting story for a number of reasons but mainly because of the location, Gibraltar and its unique history and geography around which the author has woven a clever story, set in post-Brexit times but reflecting events from WW2. Clearly the author has undertaken considerable research and uses authentic locations and the local background of life in Gibraltar seems to ring true as well. Whilst the device of using events from the past which suddenly impact contemporary life isn't unique, the way the author has woven them together in the peculiar environment of Gibraltar takes the plot to a higher level. The characters ring true and are well drawn. Recommended.
