Staci Hart's writing will wrap around your soul really tight and never let you go!! Wade fights an internal war with himself. He's angry, he's lost, he feels betrayed by the person whom he promised forever. It's an up and down rollercoaster ride for Wade. One thing is certain, he never stopped loving Elliot. Elliot is always caring and gives 100% of herself to the people she loves, even when those people don't love her back. Losing Wade, made her lose a part of herself and seeing him again gives her clarity that she'll love him forever. She'll love him regardless because deep down she can't love anyone else. He's her forever and if she can't have him then she'd rather be alone. Wade and Elliot's journey wasn't easy. They both experienced loss and pain. With time they both changed, yet what never changed was their love for one another. The thing about this book that you must know is that it isn't sweet and fluffy. You'll feel the anguish grip your heart leaving you breathless. I felt hallow in the pit of my stomach and a heavy weight on my heart from every page of this book! Once again Staci Hart has blown me away with her beautiful words that have marred my very being forever.

  • If you need a cry, this one's for you.

Heartbreaking. This book is utterly heartbreaking. And I'm not quite sure if at the end I'm just happy for the HEA or happy because my heart has stopped being hurt. The loss of a close friend, a confidante, a mentor is always terrible, but to couple that with seeing the his son, the ultimate love of your life, whom you haven't seen for 7 years after a terrible break-up, that's excruciating, bordering on unbearable. Add to that a terrible family home life, seeking to repress any of your brilliance and joie de vivre plus an emotionally abusive father, and you get a surprisingly strong Elliot, given all these terrible influences in her life. Then, there's Wade. Good, strong, impulsive, lonely, lovely Wade. Mad at the world, himself, his actions, others' actions, yet having to be the picture of strength for his dying father, his grieving sisters and his ex-girlfriend, while mourning himself. This book is steeped in angst and sadness, so if you are looking for happy-go-lucky.. maybe pick up another book, this is an emotional turmoil, that at times was perhaps a tad too encompassingly sad, but a great dealing of familial obligations vs self-fulfilment, youthful decisions vs the opinions formed upon over years' time and the simple question of going for that which makes you happy, unashamedly, without holding back. Loved it, but hated how sad it made me. But it is a great feat to bring that forth, so kudos.
