  • A beautiful part of the world

Sad to leave behind Julianne and Matt, especially with the way Matt solves their quandary. These stories continue on well from Books 1-6 but there isn't quite the intensity of the first six books, possibly because we're now more settled in domesticity. Some of the characters that come in and out of their lives are quite interestingly written - I really thought Riley was a lot more sinister than he turned out to be, and I thought the treatment of William Ashton was really sympathetic. One query to the editors: how did baby Edwin become baby Edmund in "A Garden in Cornwall"?

  • Fun and Light

I didn't find these back 6 books as good as the first six. However, they are still a great holiday read. They are light. Doesn't get into too much drama. You can see where the story arcs are going, but they are still enjoyable to read
