This is an outstanding story both beautiful and emotional . The characters are such a wonderful group . The Hathaway house is a special place where wounded military people can rest ,rehabilitate and heal . I love this story . I look forward to reading all of the series . Dani Hathaway runs the Hathaway house with her father . She knew Aaron and his brother Levi Hammond when they were teenagers . Hearing that he was hurt in an explosion and lost his leg she has him brought to the center to heal . He arrives Broken , wounded and angry . Dani and Aaron had hidden feelings long ago . The feelings resurface . They have a long journey to a happy ending . This story not only has wounded vets it also has wounded animals of all kinds from horses to dogs and many more . • Aaron:A Hathaway house #1

Quick read. Leads you through some very emotional realistic scenes which make the book a worthwhile read. Could have been a little deeper by developing the betrayal of Cain but still it was a good read with a predictable ending!

  • A new series!

A contemporary romance and the beginning of yet another series. How fun is this? It is actually great because it's full of wonderful people and how they face life, help others and survive. Some betrayal but solved. Some romance, nicely done. Along with honesty, integrity and loyalty which we have come to know and love with this author. A comfortable enjoyable story that I'll read it again. Well done!

  • Loved this book

I know that I am going to love this series, it is much gentler but still has the angst of Dale's other military books. It is set in a very sympathetic but hard pushing successful rehabilitation centre, it is used mainly for badly injured military personnel who need to rebuild their lives. Aaron feels angry, more angry than most because the blame for an explosion that devastated his team and cost him a leg was done by his best friend who had turned traitor for money......no one believed Aaron's version because his friend disappeared. Aaron had known Dani, who with her father, ran the sanctuary, since they were younger and he had always carried a torch for her. There is a nurturing romance, arguments, break downs and intrigue, it gives a really good insight into the physical and mental battles that military personnel have to face in the quest to start a new and different life. As usual Dale has done in depth research into this subject. Although it is a standalone book various old friends from previous books are introduced. Looking forward to the next book in the series I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
