  • Intriguing but frustrating

I enjoyed the characters of this novel and it was compelling reading: very grateful for a free book of this quality. But having said that I am so disappointed that it follows the now familiar route of not actually finishing the story, demanding instead that you purchase the rest of the series to make sense of this work. I consider this a dishonest use of the term ‘free book’. There is a major plot hole in that the dangerous item being sought by Hana’s vicious assailants is never the subject of a careful search; and we suspect the magnetic box that she has found during the story, and parked in her handbag, but then never opened, is either the item itself or the clue to its location. There are plot inconsistencies that are more than irritating: e.g. a scene where she loses the SIM card from her phone and misses a panicked series of messages from Logan: but never replaces the SIM card, nor learns what he was trying to tell her. And failing to alert the police to the presence of her stalkers (and later attackers) is another repeated annoyance. So while I would love to recommend this author for their skill, I have had to downgrade the review and beg the author to consider two things: first, to let the book answer its central question (what is the thing the criminals are looking for, and why does she have it); then give us Logan’s back story briefly so we can be sure he is ‘worthy’ of being her husband; only then does the pleasure of finding a well written free book not get spoiled by the annoyance of discovering the book is incomplete.

  • Not my cup of tea

Started out ok but began to drag on. I finally gave up at chapter 10.

  • About Hana

Loved it. Lots of intrigue regarding the bad guys chasing her and plenty of great humour kept me reading many nights until 2 a.m. Seriously considering purchasing book 2.

  • Don't miss this!

A rollercoaster of intrigue whisks you through this story at an unstoppable pace. Just when you think you know where you are going the plotline veers off in another direction. Believable characters demand your attention. Don't start this book unless you have time on your hands ~ it's too hard to put dowwn!
