  • Action-packed!

Taken hostage in the Middle East and fighting for her life and the lives of her students, Sarah is relieved to see an army ranger and his team come to their rescue. She is stunned when she realises it’s her ex-boyfriend Gavin. The action keeps rolling in Lynette Eason’s Acceptable Risk. Gavin’s mission is over but, in reconnecting with Sarah, he realises she needs him as back up. Badly injured, she’s taken to hospital and then discharged from the army on psychiatric grounds. Still reeling, Sarah’s estranged father delivers the news her younger brother has died by suicide. Back in the States, Sarah starts to put together the pieces of her life and her family together and nothing adds up. The psychiatrist discharged her without consulting her and everyone interacting with her brother believed he was doing better, positive about life. Additionally, a woman she meets in hospital vanishes from the hospital and there are no records she exists. Gavin is determined to keep Sarah safe and, even back home, she is still coming under attack. Soon, the two feel lost in the mystery surrounding them and confused by the conflicting information. It is a complicated web and I loved exploring it! The ending is clever and satisfying! Lynette has written a fabulous sequel to Collateral Damage and I can’t wait for the next in this series! Each character is intellectually written, the story is interesting and fast paced and the emotions heartfelt. Christian principles are lived out despite the incredibly difficult circumstances. Forgiveness and purpose are at the centre of this one. I so enjoyed getting to understand Sarah and Gavin better. If you like a good action suspense, this is one to read! Highly recommended, it’s a five out of five on the enJOYment scale.

  • Fast-Paced Tempo Throughout!

Readers will love the second book in this series which has a fast-paced tempo throughout. Readers risk doing nothing once you start this book, because you will not want to put it down. This book will leave you guessing what and who is behind everything that is occurring. The plot is extremely interesting and one that readers will love. Even though this is the second book in this series, readers can read this book as a stand-alone book. I recommend reading the first book as well. This book focuses on Sarah who is a military journalist who is always out to find the truth no matter what the circumstance. Gavin is a previous acquaintance of Sarah’s and he is able to help Sarah as she searches for the truth about her brother’s suicide. Sarah is tenacious and one of the most determined people who strives to overcome anything that she has had to face. This book is a Christian suspense romance book. I love the way the author is able to seamlessly go from one scene to the next. I highly recommend this book! You will not be disappointed! I cannot wait until the next book in this series is out! ***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.

  • Loved it!

I could not wait to get my hands on this book. The cover alone tempted me, and then seeing it was Lynette Eason had me hooked. I knew I was going to be in for a treat. Eason easily kept up her side of the bargain. From the very beginning I was biting my nails nervously awaiting what might happen next. I was taken on a jaw dropping ride and couldn’t read the pages fast enough. Sarah was the definition of tough. Smart and capable she can hold her own in a family of guys. It was fun watching her learn that while she is those things, it doesn’t hurt to let a guy be a hero here and there. The chemistry between Sarah and Gavin was undeniable, even if they tried to fight it. I really can’t blame Sarah for swooning a time or two, Gavin is a strong tattooed dose of yummy. I loved getting to know them and wasn’t ready to say goodbye. Eason kept me on my toes the whole time. This was not one of those stories where you can guess what will happen next. She braided the perfect amount of mystery, suspense, and romance. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys those three things. It was awesome seeing a strong and capable female lead, and the male complimented her perfectly. They were both far from perfect and had to learn a few hard truths about themselves. And I enjoyed every moment I spent with them. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishing and was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
