  • Loved It!

Lady Alyssa Breyton and Travell Abernathy, Viscount Curdiff, are childhood friends reunited under stressful circumstances. Alyssa recently lost the aunt who raised her and has come to live with her drunken cousin and his spiteful wife. Travell has returned to the family’s country estate to when his father suddenly reappears after a seven-year absence. He finds his father, confused and violent. Alyssa is out walking when she sees Travell arrive. Soon she is helping care for his father, and they are renewing their friendship. Where has Lord Trenton been, and what happened to his mind? Can he recover? Alyssa and Travell are an absolutely adorable couple. They have their hands full finding their way to romance and solving the mystery of his father’s plight. There are some familiar friends to help with both. Triana and Gabriel are here, and Logan Montgomery (a fellow Home Office Agent) uses his skills to help find what happened to Travell’s father. Talon Lyridon and Dr. Perimore bring some interesting therapy into the situation. There are some surprises, mostly surrounding the villains (there are several). Lady Fremont is a real doozie. This is a story of emotion, uncertainty, danger, mystery, resolution, and reconciliation. It is also, and above all, a love story. I loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
