  • Inspiring and Instructional

Good for any manager who is facing adversity and wants to see a way forward. Also inspires one to believe and stick to beliefs of how to move forward. Ps: Engineers are the source of all wealth.

  • Ford an American Icon

Wow, what a page turner, a really great story. I couldn't put it down, I think I will read it again very soon. I have a new found respect for the ford motor company... highly recommended.

  • One of the classic business books of all time

This rates as a classic of the order Alfred Sloan's "My Years With General Motors". There are innumerable lessons for business and it doesn't require a 'hard-ass' leader, but a focused one who then passes on that discipline to any one who cares to go along for the ride. It beats a lot of those excellent prescriptive books like Tom Peters' "In Search of Excellence" or many of Peter Drucker's treatises because it combines a first-person journey with important and practical business lesson. It should be required reading in MBA programs. I wish it had been available when I was doing mine!!

  • Like good turnaround stories? This is for you.

This is a great book that gives a brief history of Ford and then gets into the core of the story just prior to Alan Mulally's arrival and takes you through the turnaround which includes the financial crisis of 2008 which saw Ford's two (2) domestic competitors declare bankruptcy while Ford was able to stand on their own two feet. Very well written book with just the right level of detail to keep the story moving along.

  • 1977 - 2018 working at Ford based in Germany

I spent my working life at Ford, over 41 years and the last 30 years holding management positions. I worked through Ford 2000, and through decades of changes. This book, which I have read now 5 times is extremely accurate, covers a period of Ford, now history, created by an outstanding team of leaders and guided by a man Alan Mulally who made us all feel proud to have been part of it.
