  • Ask, tell

I usually do not like a book written in the first person, but I was glued to this story from beginning to end. Well done.

  • Mesmerizing

E J Noyes pulls you into the plot with trembling fingers. Your feeling for the characters Sabine and Rebecca is real and you want with every fiber of your being to help them navigate successfully through the bureaucracy of the US Army and their ludicrous Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell rule to a successful conclusion.

  • I can only imagine...

I cannot imagine being a gay woman serving in the military under Don't Ask, Don't Tell dedicated to serving my country but only as long as I do not reveal who I love. This novel showed up in my recommendations, I was skeptical but glad I picked it up. The author does a great job describing the life as a military surgeon, I was able to sympathize with Sabine. I hate it the way that her longtime girlfriend ended their relationship however, it did make room for Sabine's superior, Colonel Keane's subtle cues. I was happy when they got together, albeit forbidden, they both needed one another. But when Keane received the alert that's Sabine any traffic accidents she knew what she had to do. It was totally romantic. Keane was willing to give up her military career to save Sabine's. She cared more for Sabine than improving rank, that's love. A great read ❣
