    Thanks for your feedback!

    Intense but really satisfying.

The stories in this anthology are so intense and the themes are very strong but they not only add to the reader's impression of the Assassins but also to Ms Aleo's writing. She has created characters with depth, who are flawed but who are able, with the love of a good partner, to find the best of themselves. Ms Aleo does not flinch from difficult storylines, including single parenting, breast cancer and alcoholism but this only serves to make her characters more realistic as they strive to overcome their difficulties. Phillip and Reese's story shows that best friends can become so much more, and the relationship they build with Claire makes them so much stronger. Lacey and Karson have overcome so much - her illness and her father's unhealthy obsession - they deserve their HEA, although the scene when they return from Las Vegas to a room full of tissues is a scream (you have to read this to find out why). The strongest story belongs to Kacey and Jordie. He has so much to overcome because of his drinking and their story is so full of troughs and highs but the highs win out. Through it all is the support of the Assassins and a very determined owner who wants the best for her players, as well as the strong bonds not only between the hockey players themselves but also through their wives. Because this is an ongoing series, it has been great to see the different couples as their lives go on - seeing these big men becoming marshmallows around their children is well worth it. This really is a series that is well worth investing your time in.
