  • Another good Buroker book.

If you don't like sex scenes, there's one in the early to middle pages you can easily avoid. Apart from that, I like the book. Lindsay's style is fun her characters are vivid and entertaining. There were some parts that were confusing that I felt would have benefited from another run past an editor, but not many. All in all worth four stars. If you want a five star read try Lindsay's "The Emperor's Edge!!!"

  • Interesting

Something unusual. Though I feel it missed the trick towards end, it was so interesting and exceptional throughout.

  • Great read

The style made it easy to lose myself in the storyline. Charters come to life and I was able to relate to them. Looking forward to next in the series. Tonino

  • Fantastic Elements of Fantasy & Steampunk

I listened to the audiobook. This book was very good. I really enjoyed it. The premise was fun, a sorceress lay unconscious for 300 years, awakes, and realizes everything she knew is gone. Not sure how she survived without food or drink all this time, but she's magical, so the type of state her mind went into may explain that. I also like the concept of a Soul Blade, a blade with a young sorceress's mind, able to communicate to the sorceress bonded to, or the main character. The rest of the novel, as prisoners are digging in the mountain to find exotic crystals, which are rather meaningless objects to the sorceresses of old, is very interesting. There was plenty of intrigue and tension throughout, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Read another series by the same person and was not disappointed starting this one. A strong start to the series with interesting and amusing characters.
