  • A phenomenal read

Another phenomenal book by Catherine Cowles! Beautifully Broken Control is the fourth book in Sutter Lake Series. Each book in this series is amazing and this one is no exception. Cowles gives us a small town romance with lovable characters and a dose of suspense. Im sad to see the series come to an end but I'm excited to see what else she gives us in the future. Catherine Cowles is a must read author. You won't be disappointed 💜

  • Simply Wonderful

Beautifully Broken Control is book four in the Sutter Lake series and just like the previous books you won't be able to put it down. Funny, witty and all kinds of steamy, the newest installment to this series will leave you with a book hangover you won't even regret. Kennedy came to Sutter Lake seeking the simple life and to escape the consequences of her father's shady business dealings. Guilt-ridden for a childhood of luxury she feels she didn't deserve, all she wants is a peaceful life for her and her dog, Chuck, who suspiciously resembles the adorable real-life spaniel the author herself owns. Each day she does her best to be grateful for the blessings she has and give back to those who are down on their luck. In contrast, Cain came from humble beginnings and made his billions the old-fashioned way through hard work and honest dealings. But all the riches in the world can't help him escape the pain in his past which drives him to hold tight to his control and be overprotective of those in his life thereby insuring their safety. When there is a security threat at his tech company, he escapes the stresses of the city and heads to his hometown of Sutter Lake to spend some time with his two best friends, Walker and Tuck. Little does he know that our green-eyed heroine will change his life in the best ways if he's willing to fully let her in. As a couple, Cain and Kennedy are an interesting dynamic. She pushes his boundaries in all the right ways and he breaks down her carefully constructed walls in order to address her misplaced guilt. Their love is beautiful and epic. All in all, Catherine Cowles has delivered another spectacular story. This small-town romance can be read as a standalone, but is best appreciated by reading the previous books in order to catch all the background stories of other characters in Sutter Lake. I truly loved Kennedy and Cain's journey and I can't wait to see what Catherine produces next. I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

  • Beautifully Broken Control: Cain and Kennedy

What an absolutely beautiful story!!! I have been waiting ever so patiently for Cain and Kennedy's story and let me tell you it was soooo worth the wait!! Cain and Kennedy collectively have been through some really tough times in their past that shapes them in their present lives. My heart ached for them and what they have went through, I just wanted to squeeze them tight and never let them go. I absolutely loved Kennedy, she is so sweet, kind, and is doing everything she can to make the wrong right in her everyday life even though it wasn't her fault at all. Cain my poor poor Cain, he broke my heart. He has a hard time letting people in after what he has been through, he is super protective and the feelings that Kennedy stirs in him is feelings that he hasn't felt in a very long time and it scares him but he can't get her out of his mind. Can these two broken souls heal each other and let one another in? Will they realize that love is worth it all? I loved everything about this book, I laughed, cried, and swooned throughout their story. Catherine knows how to write a beautiful story that will suck you in from the very first page. As sad as I am that this is the end of Sutter Lake series, this book was the perfect way to end such an amazing series. I highly recommend this book and the whole Sutter Lake series to all. This talented author has done it again and this story is easily a top 2020 read for me hands down. Well done and I can't wait to read more from this author!!!

  • Beautifully Broken Control

This is the kind of story I like. Mystery within a mystery and not being able to see which direction it is coming from. You only think you know who donit . It’s a great read.

  • A Beautiful Ending...

Can you truly love someone without giving up your control? The title nails it perfectly. The fourth installment of the Beautifully Broken Series delves into the darker side of grief for both characters. Their control is a fixture, cemented into their everyday life. Kennedy, with her impossible expectations of becoming a better person and Cain, refusing to budge from his stoic, overprotective demeanor. The struggle between control and love is razor thin. Which one will win out? No spoilers here! I have to add that I absolutely loved the how our characters from the series remained a constant in the story. Showing us tidbits of their lives after their stories felt well rounded :) I've loved this series and absolutely hate the thought of leaving Sutter Lake behind.
