    Brilliant

'Before here eyes' is a brilliant book with a brilliant concept, I could not put it down. I really liked the cover, and felt it really suited it, which made me enjoy the book just that little bit more. The story was full of twists and turns that kept me turning the pages and guessing what would happen next. I like the authors writing style, the characters were well developed, and the plot intriguing, especially with the main character Naomi being blind and unable to see the killer. It was an interesting take for a thriller which I really enjoyed, making me consider points I had not before and would therefore recommend 'Before her eyes' to a friend. I will also be on the lookout to read more by this author.

    Highly recommended.

My wife read this book on our honeymoon and couldn't put it down, so I had to see what it was all about. I went into this book with few expectations but have finished it blown away. the plot is fast and gripping, and so tense at times that I had to remind myself to breathe, just what I expect in a thriller. But surprisingly, what I enjoyed most was the characterisation. I felt Naomi's desperate need to be independent and refusal to let her disability control her life, even when it went against her best interest at times, but her only other choice would be to lie in wait for the killer to get her. I admired her fight, not only against the antagonists in the book, but her own demons. 5 big, fat stars from me. Highly recommend.

Slow burner but worth the effort

It took me a few chapters to get into this but once I did I was hooked, strong main characters and good twists and turns. Recommend this book

    Insightful

This book stands out as a hugely perceptive novel with commendable sensitivity and empathy. I was intrigued by how well the writer could "get into people's heads" and those extra touches he used (like mannerisms, thoughts and people's behaviour) which revealed excellent observational skills. Naomi Hannah lives alone - a divorcee. She is blind and relies heavily on her other senses to compensate and make sense of her dark world. It's something I knew but the stark reality of it as portrayed in the book adds a higher dimension of understanding. Immediately you are plunged into her dark world where all her senses are on high alert through touch, sound and smell. This scenario is superbly and authentically drawn. The bond with her dog Max is touching. The main plot is hugely gruesome and perfectly enacted. For the detective team unlocking the well-hidden dark secrets of the case, it is a hefty task. The Boss, Lisa is officious and the team don't get on well. Even testosterone has a turn for the worse. There are so many intriguing sub-plots in this novel. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Thank you to NetGalley and Corvus.
