  • I love Cyn & Raphael!

I really enjoy this series and am always glad when a Cyn and Raphael story comes out. Raphael and Cyn are at Raphael’s home in Grand Junction, Colorado when a failed assassination attempt on Raphael begins the story. Cyn is immediately on high alert and wants the heads of every human and vampire involved. Raphael is planning a coup of his own, without Cyn’s knowledge, to draw out the shooter and end this once and for all. After the trap is sprung and Raphael is left bloodied, Cyn finds it hard to come to terms with which betrayal is worse, the vampire behind the assassination or Raphael’s. What an action-packed novella! So many things happen in this story that set many things into motion. We see a little more of Lucas in this book. The charming Irishman and Vampire Lord of the Plains is on the brink of war with Klemens, Vampire Lord of the Midwest. Klemens believes that Raphael will aide Lucas in the war so Raphael and Lucas assume that Klemens is behind the assassination attempt. That may not be the case since the novella ends with Lucas gathering warriors to go after the “traitor.” There is a serious shift in Raphael and Cyn’s relationship at the end of this story. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out. We are also introduced to Raphael’s new lieutenant, Jared Lincoln. Jared is one of Raphael’s children but Cyn is not keen on anyone stepping into Duncan’s place at Raphael’s side. I’m looking forward to learning more about Jared as well. The novella is a perfect segue from Duncan’s book to Lucas’s. I can’t wait to dive in!

    Thanks for your feedback!
