  • So badly written

I am a huge Reacher fan, but this book is so badly written it may well be my last. The style is childish and appears written by a commitee and the syntax is terrible. It reads more like an extremely poor short story idea that was extended to a very short novel. I could write more, but I just don't care enough about the book to bother

  • Better of stillborn

Too much detail and not enough story, it was a very slow read.

  • Unpickupable

"Reacher" as we knew and loved him is definitely dead. Was so hoping Andrew Grant could hit his stride and pull off the impossible; have given it two tries now and this is not Reacher. I wish the franchise luck, but could not make it past the first few chapters of this second of the jointly-authored books. The original series was a modern classic. Would much have preferred Reacher to die a fitting death while still himself. Andrew is a competent writer, and the book may appeal to some - but true lovers of Child's dry, terse style and Reacher's laconic, unstoppable single-mindedness will be sorely disappointed.

  • Better off not read

Have loved the Jack Reacher series until recently. The last few have been mediocre to average at best, and this latest is just plain awful. A barely coherent plot coupled with lazy writing. No more please.

  • Better off dead

Absolutely terrible, almost impossible to read due to the machine gun writing, up to 14 sentences in 6 lines, in one case 33 in 14 lines. Couldn’t be bothered to finish it.

    Thanks for your feedback!
