    Bittersweet

This is a really hard book to get through, there is a lot of talk about politics which totally lost my interest. I was really looking forward to reading it, as I had heard it was as good as the thorn birds but I won't be reading bittersweet again.

    A bit vapid

nice enough story. T I found this took a long time to get into the main story, it was most interesting towards the end and then it finished.

I really enjoyed Bittersweet! I found it quite different to Colleen McCullough's other novels. It entertained me, which a story should. The players were very credible, and each of the twins all likeable by their individual characters. The central plot remained throughout, and Charles even though he had a tough job was a likeable 'villain'. If you like a good lengthy read, grab a copy. You won't be disappointed!

Can't believe how badly this book is written. Very disappointed. Story line is jumbled, political background over done and often irrelevant . Has Colleen lost her touch????

I found it slow to begin with, but as the characters developed I enjoyed being in a country town in the 1930's and the politics of that time.
