  • The truth is not always the truth!

A fascinating story of friendship, betrayal, family and tragedy. I found this book so sad. I was emotionally hooked from the very beginning and just couldn't look away! As each chapter tells the story of one of the two main characters, you find yourself switching loyalty and questioning your assumptions. As a character-driven book the pace is not fast but it carries you along none the less. The author deals with very difficult subject matter in an understanding and sympathetic way and has written a great story to prove that the truth is not always the truth! A great book that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end. I would like to thank Netgalley and the publishers, Allen & Unwin, for giving me an electronic copy in exchange for my honest review.

  • Great ending

Simple story to begin. But becomes twisted, complicated, interesting. Great insight into different mothers' ideas of parenting; what's right for one is not necessarily right for another.

  • Absorbing

Remarkably good. An intense and intriguing portrait of 2 women struggling through their immensely harrowing circumstances.

  • Emotional story

An interesting read. A story of friendship and the effects our children have on us, either living or deceased. It made me grateful for our two healthy daughters snd three grandchildren. Worth reading.
