My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5) Content Rating:18+ Genre: Paranormal/Vampire Romance Published:2018 Blood Bond: 1 does a reasonably good job of introducing the reader to the Blood Bond Saga Series and all the main characters. But I felt that this book was more of a prologue. Looking at the subsequent books, I now realize this is a serial series. Blood Bond is the first book that I have read by Helen Hardt. Although it was easy to read, I did feel that the writing fell short, and there was a lot of repetition in the dialogue. The story was engaging and did keep me reading. Dante, our alluring, gorgeous vampire, has escaped after being held captive for ten years by a female vampire. Dante makes his way to a hospital blood bank where Erin, an ER nurse, catches him vandalizing the blood bank. Dante and Erin do have a certain amount of chemistry. Unfortunately, I felt that their attraction was rushed; I am not a huge fan of insta-love. Reader beware, this first part does end in a bit of a cliffhanger. I am planning on reading the next installment in this series. Unchained: Blood Bond: Volume 1 includes parts 1, 2, & 3. And as luck would have it is now free on Amazon. *** I kindly received this galley by way of NetGalley/publisher/author. I was not contacted, asked, or required to leave a review. I received no

  • Left me wanting more

I use an e-reader so I never know when the book will end. When I turned to the last page I said. That’s it! and purchased book 2.

  • Waste of money

I've enjoyed paranormal romance in the past, but this book didn't do anything for me. I loved the Twilight series, but now, I would want more vampire nookie considering I was younger when I read them. My favorite paranormal romance to date is the Existence Trilogy by Abbi Glines. Although those books were paranormal, the writing and the creativity made it feel like vampires and death existed. With Dante, I didn't feel like that. This novella is a short read and can be read in an hour or two tops. I'd say it was more of an introduction instead of a story. The fall is, it was boring. Therefore I won't continue. However, I am glad I learned my lesson not to buy all the books in a series before finishing the first book. I finished this book quickly because it bored me and I skimmed. I'm not a fan of routine, and that's what this book seemed like. I think it would have been better to combine the novellas instead of breaking them into parts, and charging for them mainly because it's a dull start. No romance. No character connection. Dull storyline. 75% though and the characters are still rambling. (I had only lived in New Orleans for a few years, but even in that short time, I’d come to realize it was a very special place.) It's basically about what they want, and what they can't have. Phone conversations. Work. Family. And, a little information into the past to create a villain. The vampire feels felt too fictional, and I struggled with that aspect of the book. I like when fictional makes me believe, and this book didn't do that for me.

  • Amazing

The blurb sounded amazing and I love vampires, but I was a little hesitant to start. But it was amazing, I loved this first installment and after I finished the first part of Dante and Erinś story I was glad we got the second part already so I could go on. Amazing series if you love romance, vampires and an amazing story
