  • Exciting

Really good follow up to the first story. Liked how the underdogs were finally given a good chance. Helps that some of the bad guys croaked.

  • This series just keeps getting better!

This series just keeps getting better! The third book in this series, it is darker than the other two books, but I thought the darkness fit this installment. However, similar to the other two, Tracy expertly writes essentially two stories at the same time. For example, in this story, there are really two heroes (Thomal and Nyko) and two heroines (Pandra and Faith). The love scenes in this one are more plentiful and more sizzling than the past two books. Holy smokes!!! I love how the males in this town are genetically forced to “be the perfect guy,” otherwise they will be in physical pain: Dedicated, loyal, faithful, protective. The masochist in me enjoyed reading about Thomal and Nyko’s respective struggles, finding it almost endearing that they need their mates THAT badly. It’s a very unique trait to give them, and I love reading about it! Across this series, Tracy is like the conductor of a 127-piece orchestra; she introduces a new instrument (or character), gives them an awesome solo, then fades them into the background, all the while making sure their sounds can still be heard. In other words, she has the main characters from past books as minor characters in this one. Not only was I thrilled to read their continuing stories, but I feel it kept the story interesting, injecting it with fresh perspectives every now and then. I was ECSTATIC when I found out another book is being written in this series. I LOVE IT!!! To that point, Tracy took the story in a unique direction from not just “vampire-paranormal,” but also merging with the “other-worldly-fantastical.” I can’t wait!!! ***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

  • This series just gets better

Oh my lord !!! Tracy you pulled it out of the bag again !! It's a fast paced read. Yes it's a little hard going, and if I hadn't read the other two books, I might have not gone on. There are a few chapters that made me gulp, wail and want to cry, "look out behind you". The book divides it time between two sets of characters, and I had to wonder if it was going to be a little one sided, would one pairing get more air time than the other ? Both I was pleased with the sharing if reading time. I was hooked from the moment I opened my kindle. Vârcolac warriors and their bitter enemies the Om Rău are locked in a battle for females and supremacy. (The females vampires can no longer populate their worlds, so special human females are kidnapped by the Om Rău or interviewed and invited by the Varcolac to join them) Story one involves Pandra and Thomal,( both have been seen through the series) Pandra is not your typical heroine, she is a twisted and spiteful being. She is vicious and a total B.I.T.C.H !!! In a twist that I didn't see coming, she binds herself to Thomal. Then cruelly walks away. Things progress and Pandra is captured and is forced to accept her bond with Thomal. Time away from her sire causes a change in Pandra. But Is still Thomal still seething from her actions, and acts mean to her. she finds she wants to be with him, to prove she is not the monster she once was. Thomal is a warrior, but I don't think his heart in it. He was an artist before joining the war against the Om Rău. And he has a human female who is slowly coming round to his wooing. But Pandra's lack of conscience ends his new relationship, and his actions and words relate that. Will they make it ? At one point I really wanted the bond broken, but her childhood made her into the adult she became, so after reading a little more of her background, I warmed up and began to root for her. Story two,Nyko and Faith. Nyko has been a favourite of mine, and couldn't wait to read him. Nyko has had a hard upbringing, and has protected his brothers for as long as he could remember. He is a hardened warrior, but he also longs for a mate. Faith is awesome, she waits patiently for Nyko to realise that they are meant to be together. But before that happens, both Faith and Pandra are captured by the Om Rău. Those scenes are a little hard to read, but as I've read the previous two books I was prepared. I love this hard hitting series, and I'll recommend it to anyone that likes their vampires non sparkly
