A disappointing end to a great series

I understand that the author wants to move on and doesn't want to write any more books in this series. I'm disappointed in this book for several reasons. First, it really should have been a Menolly novel and there should have been one book after that had the point of view rotating through all the sisters. Second, after twenty novels building to this point, I found the final battle rather anti-climatic. I think the climax of this book occurred more when they first got to where the battle was going to occur and start preparing for it. If you are going to include a reference at the back of the book, keep it up to date. Many of the references occurred several books ago and are dated when you read this book. Also there are many characters that are listed that did not appear in this book (and in fact have not appeared in the last several books). I did like the epilogue. Despite my above criticism, I did like the book and it is a fitting end to the series (but it should have been expanded).

    No words for the loss

I'm always so absorbed in a good book and in a way I want to rebel against this wonderful series ending. I thought the fight against Shadow Wing would have been longer to make it more suspenseful but either way, the consequences or the loss resulting from that battle was still heartly felt. Astrid will have a great mom (and nanny 😂) to take care of her and I'm happy to read what Maggie was up to in the distant future. That letter was the final for at the end of a sentence that were the D'Artigo sisters' story. I need to go and cover myself with a blanket and ball out. Thank you Yasmine for creating this wonderful trio.
