  • Can't Wait for Book 2!

I absolutely loved Elis! I feel like the serial-killer-as-main-character angle is one that can be difficult to pull off, but Cameron does it well. Frankly, I feel like every town could use an Elis O'Connor. If you've read any of Cameron's other books you'll know her world-building and pacing are always spot-on, and this book is no exception. If you've read her Demons of Oblivion series there are plenty of between-the-lines references to make you absolutely crazy (in a good way) wanting to know what happened in the intervening period between that series and this one, but the series stands perfectly well on its own. I laughed a surprising amount during this book (my husband may have started sneaking me suspicious glances at one point). Usually any time Elis opens her mouth with an opinion on the "garbage men" of the species I couldn't help it, as she conveys with with wit and brevity what anyone who's had encounters with sleazy dudes wishes they could say. Overall an absolutely wonderful read, highly recommend it for your next (or first) urban fantasy pick!

  • Loved It

Fun urban fantasy. I loved Elis and her humor, great to find some sapphic characters even though romance isn't the focus. Glad I read Demons of Oblivion first even though this can probably stand alone. I have so many more questions about the original characters and what happened but a lot of good glimpses in here.

  • Interesting heroine

I reallylike Skyla's writing. I first discovered her with the Liv Talbot series which I love. After reading Blood Ties, I want to go back and read Bloodlines. Can't wait for more from her.

    Thanks for your feedback!
