  • when I grow up, I want to be a honey badger

The Honey Badgers are back and no one is safe. Breaking Badger is Mad’s story. Mad is one of Max’s basketball teammates. Their team is in the playoffs, someone is trying to kill them, and Mad’s grandmother has died. We find out that Mad’s family was not very nice to her so she lived with her grandmother. Max’s sister Nat Malone is coming into her honey badger powers. Nat’s brother Finn wants to find out who killed his father. Finn and Mad hook up. Mad buys a house in the same neighborhood as the MacKilligan sisters. There are the various cast of hybrid shifters constantly providing action in Breaking Badger. Something is always happening and we are treated to globe trotting shifters. I love this world that Shelly Laurenston has created and when I grow up, I want to be a honey badger. PS: I think Dee-Ann Smith (Big Bad Beast, Pride Series #6) has met her match in Charlie MacKilligan. I need to go back and read the Pride Series. 5 stars. Yes you need to read this series. • What a ride!

This book was... wildly entertaining! I know this story is supposed to be about a honey badger named Mads and a fierce tiger named Finn, but... it was about so much more than them! This book had so many people popping in and out, so many perspectives trying to push themselves out there and make themselves heard, so many action scenes that highlighted the madness of everyone that it was hard to ignore everyone else. At its core, Breaking Badger was about Finn and his brothers wanting to get to the bottom of who murdered their father and looking to the honey badgers for help. However, those badgers don't like to help anyone else but each other. Then there's Mads, who has been terrorized by her family her whole life and we're all wondering when this girl will finally stand up for herself. I had a whole lot of love for the absolute absurdity that happened in this story. From the crazy and intense action scenes, the hilarity of the banter, the camaraderie between all of the characters, and the slow burn of the romance, I was hooked! The mystery of how the father of the Black Malones is still unsolved and I'm looking forward to seeing what these people do to find their answers.

  • More badger hijinks!

The honey badgers strike again! This highly entertaining, wonderfully intriguing, and expectedly unexpected story involves Max MacKilligan’s team, not friends, and specifically Mads. This Viking from Chicago comes from a family of hyenas who have never appreciated her honey badger ways. Fate threw the team together with the Dark Malone brothers, and Mads and Finn somehow always seem to end up seeking each other out after that first encounter. They find out they really fit well together, have steamy times, and fall for each other. They also bring lots of laughs and chuckles, with and at each other, their teams, and his family. New mysteries to be solved, seriously, there are like three that we know of, and only one of them is solved, and one has no explanation! Lots of time at the sports complex as we get some greatly entertaining shifter sports. Some previous favourites show up and of course, this is the honey badgers, so the MacKilligan sisters and their mates, and Kyle, are all around. Fast paced (don’t blink) and packed with a wide array of emotions, I loved it all!

  • Love those badgers!!!

I really enjoy these characters. I thought I had hit the jackpot when I saw some new covers. However, they were earlier books with new covers. Looking forward to the rest of the team.
