  • Awesome as always!

I love these books and all the books that she has written to date. Her stories are complex and detailed and I can get truly lost in her worlds.

  • Spell-binding

I love all this author has written and I've read all her books both by Sagara and West but I particularly love the Cast series. She is a complex writer that absolutely enthralls you but they are not speed-reading material, you need to read the books slowly (difficult to do) and take in all of the subtle character traits and details given. TY Michelle for another great read. Can't wait for the next one.

  • Just buy it (and the preceding 16) !

I love Michelle Sagara's storytelling; so detailed, beautifully and intricately woven over the course of 17 books, each character with their own unique voice whilst displaying distinct racial characteristics. I had to re-read the entire series after finishing Sword & Shadow (this is a series I re-read often and can still get lost in the detail), and Michelle is an amazing writer; a genius who can either plot 15 books ahead, or go back 17 books and somehow make the many, many, little Easter eggs fit seamlessly into their increasingly large basket. Probably both. Personally, I'm glad to see Kaylin maturing, especially over the last 2 or 3 books. There were a few books (9 to 11 or so) where I wanted to give her a good shake (High Barrani version) but I think we have to recognise that: 1 the story arc to date takes place over a relatively short period of time - months, perhaps a year or so overall, and 2, Kaylin was 19 in Book 1 and is still only 20 in this book. Please keep writing this wonderful series, Michelle, and I'll keep pre-ordering.

    Thanks for your feedback!
