  • Catnapped!

I really enjoyed this latest installment of the Magical Romantic Comedies (with a body count). The characterisation was amazing, and the story flowed well, both plot and style wise. It was a joy to meet both new and old friends. Now, please excuse me while I go re-read it!

  • To the point

Loved it. We have all the right ingredients to make a great story. I would love to know how she came up with the different characteristics of all the people. I was excited to reunite with so many of the people from other books, it was nice to see how they have progressed. Definitely a keeper

  • Fast-paced adventure

Reviewed by Liz Konkel for Readers' Favorite Catnapped: A Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count) by RJ Blain is the eighteenth book in the series. Diana will stop at nothing until she gets her cat back. She came home to find her house broken into and her cat missing, setting her on a rescue mission with a dash of vengeance. She goes to the only person she can think of that can help track her cat down: the Devil himself. Turning to the Devil isn't for the weak-willed and Diana is certainly not weak. A deal with the Devil may cost her a lot, but Mr. Flooferson the Magnificent is worth the trouble. She partners with the son of a demon who comes with sizzling chemistry and allies such as an angel and a brazen woman. In the search of the catnappers, she stumbles upon a shocking discovery that could release a dangerous threat to humanity. RJ Blain delivers another devilishly delightful and sinfully charming treat with a mission to save a cat that turns into a mission to save humanity. The love of felines is woven into this fast-paced romp. Diana is willing to do whatever it takes to find her cat and has a strong personality that can challenge even the Devil. Each of the characters has top-notch humor and banter that matches well against the strong wit and brazen personality of Diana. The strong voice is notable of Blain's style and delivers clever, fast-paced action that drives the adventure forward. The characters surrounding her provide an assortment of personalities that includes the devil, his wife, her new partner Darian, his mother Belial, archangels, and even appearances from Him. The dynamic between Diana and Darian is funny and charming and delivers sizzling chemistry and delightful banter. The dialogue is a strength and a trademark of Blain's writing style that pulls you in from the beginning and is addictive from page one. The story has several attributes from the previous installments in the series with strong female characters, an empowering lead, attractive love interests, eccentric characters, romantic situations, and top-notch comedy. The humor is wild in the best possible ways with quirky cat names and humorous anecdotes that create playful puns about the Devil and angels. The story brings Diana up against catnappers who have a nefarious plan for humanity with a dose of lycanthropy woven into the story. Catnapped is another win for Blain with charm, humor, action, hellish jokes, and clever dialogue in a fast-paced adventure to catch catnappers and save Mr. Flooferson.

  • Highly recommended

Reviewed by K.C. Finn for Readers' Favorite Catnapped is a work of fiction in the urban fantasy, adventure, and romantic drama subgenres, and was penned by author R. J. Blain. The work is intended for the general reading audience and is subtitled ‘A Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count)’, which sums up the ethos and attitude of the work very well indeed. Our protagonist is the instantly likable Diana, a woman who adores her rescue cat, Mr. Flooferson the Magnificent, and would quite literally go to the ends of the earth for him. So when Diana finds her cat stolen, she makes a deal with demons, angels, and everyone in between in order to rescue him, little knowing that her quest will lead her into a celestial fight the scale of which she could never have imagined. Author R. J. Blain has crafted an utterly charming work of comedy-drama fiction with plenty of thrills, spills, and laugh-out-loud moments to offer readers. As an avid reader of many of Blain’s works, it is wonderful to see the author hit such a delicate balance of the wacky and the relatable, which is achieved in no small part by her commitment to developing such relatable characters, whom you can believe in despite the bizarre and entertaining events of the plot. The cheeky dialogue and snark within the prose offset the cutesy overtones, making for a wild adventure that readers from teens to any age above can’t fail to enjoy. Overall, I would highly recommend Catnapped to fans of quirky, witty comedies, fantasy adventure novels, and readers of well-penned romantic fiction everywhere.
