  • A terrible tragedy

The needless loss of life and the ecological disaster was an absolute tragedy. Like all nuclear disasters, the details kept quiet to protect the defence industry. I'm left questioning the one death at the fukoshima reactor disaster. What type of reactor did Russia build for Iran? This is worth the read, just to find out how the Chernobyl disaster happened.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Don't gamble with a nuclear reactor

I was 12 when the Chernobyl accident occurred so I didn't really understand what was happening or why, this book covers the run up, the accident itself, the immediate aftermath and the continuing issues that the accident caused. It also covers the political era of the old USSR. A fascinating, if disturbing read.

  • Better than the TV show

Very well researched book. Never boring to read as most interesting and makes you think.

  • Good narrative

Strong start and 1st chapters. Less strength in the final chapters where the unravelling of the USSR is told.
